So far in my photoshop tutorials, we’ve covered quite a bit on how to fake the look of an old toy camera, with the Holga , LOMO/X-Pro , and Light Leaks tutorials. These are fun to do, but if you really want to go all the way and to make people think you’re shooting film, this is the last (and really most important) step.

Two weeks ago, a commenter asked me whether I had some SEO book recommendations for newbies. There are times when I feel like I’m banging my head against a brick wall. Or maybe I should say, times when I feel like the drum I’m banging is being pounded with bricks! I’ve been advocating the use of XHTML for years, and although I’m not at all sorry that XHTML 2 is dead (because it was utterly divorced from reality), I am extremely sorry that so many developers have regressed back to using HTML 4

Coworking is a growing global trend that gives professionals who work from home an opportunity to work in a group setting. According to Wikipedia, while each individual is still working independently, members of a coworking group typically share values and are interested in the synergy that can happen from working with talented people in the same space. Coworking spaces are usually informal, and they are frequently described as an office in a café, although they shouldn’t be confused with office space you can rent.

This video focuses on taking an already existing idea and code and turning it into a jQuery plugin. In this case, it helps keep our code as semantic as it can be, and with JavaScript off, degrades nicely

The on-off relationship between Microsoft and Yahoo has been consummated. A new 10-year deal will bind the two companies as they seek to compete with Google. In January 2008, Microsoft originally offered $47.5 billion to buy Yahoo outright.
